Masters Hall of Fame Presents Master Jamie Cashion with Bushido Award
Costa Mesa, CA – Master Jamie Cashion, a 7th Degree Black Belt in American Karate, was once again honored by the Masters Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to the martial arts community at the Fourteenth Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Costa Mesa Hilton. Master Cashion, who also excels in Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing, is the senior ranking black belt with Christian Soldiers Karate under Grand Master J. Pat Burleson.

Originally inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame in 2011, Master Cashion received the Living Legend Award for his service to the community as well as his years of experience in the martial arts. This year he was honored with the Bushido Award alongside such luminaries as Grand Master Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Sifu Cynthia Rothrock. He also had the p
leasure of inducting a number of worthy individuals into the Masters Hall of Fame.
Master Cashion has set a strong example through both his martial arts success and his commitment to giving back to the community. After nearly losing his life as a volunteer firefighter at age 16, he has dedicated his life to helping others. In addition to his work with Christian Soldiers Karate, Master Cashion has worked with his local Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, the Speedway Charities and other organizations. He has been honored by Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton with the Presidential Sport Award and by then-State Senator Mike Moncrief with the Texas Martial Arts Award. Most recently he was named a Hometown Hero in Fort Worth, Texas, for his commitment to the community.
“I am honored beyond belief to receive the Bushido Award from the Masters Hall of Fame along with such icons of the martial arts as Don Wilson and Cynthia Rothrock,” said Cashion of his induction. “I truly do not feel I am worthy of such recognition, and I thank God for all of the blessing in my life.”
The Masters Hall of Fame was founded in 1999 and is recognized as one of the premier Martial Arts events on the West Coast. The association recognizes exceptional Martial Arts Leaders and Legends through induction into the Masters Hall of Fame. This year the event honored Women in the Martial Arts and featured Full-Contact Muay Thai Champion Lisa King, aka “The Black Widow,” as keynote speaker.
