“These are men I have looked up to for years, and just to be on the same stage as them is unbelievable.” – Master Jamie Cashion

The United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing members of the martial arts community who have dedicated themselves to excellence and have made a true difference in the arts and their community. Master Cashion, who also excels in Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing, exemplifies these traits and more. He is the senior ranking black belt under Grand Master Burleson with Christian Soldiers Karate and has dedicated thousands of hours to giving back to the community. He has been honored by Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton with the Presidential Sport Award and by former State Senator Mike Moncrief with the Texas Martial Arts Award.

Master Cashion’s dedication to serving the community goes back to his early years, when he nearly lost his life as a volunteer firefighter battling a deadly grass fire at age 16. Still a first responder, he was among the first on the scene after a devastating EF-4 tornado struck Granbury, Texas, on March 15, 2013, and he remained for hours helping to rescue people from the wreckage. He also spoke to the city of Fort Worth to help raise money to benefit firefighters from West, Texas, following the horrific explosion at a fertilizer company that killed at least 15, including many first responders.

In addition to serving the community, Master Cashion is a tireless promoter of the martial arts. He has established a “Night of Tribute” dinner at which pioneers of the martial arts are honored as living legends. He also has presented honorary black belts to luminaries in many fields, including U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Dirk Debbink, businessman T. Boone Pickens, country singer Toby Keith and the rock band Journey.

“It is truly an honor for me to be inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame alongside Grandmaster J. Pat Burleson, Grand Master Raymond McCallum and the great Dwayne “Rooster” Machen,” said Master Cashion. “These are men I have looked up to for years, and just to be on the same stage as them is unbelievable. I want to thank God for all the blessings he has given me over the years.”
